Stand Up Comedy
"You're not funny" - everyone I knew growing up

Then at age 31 I went to a Sam Morril show at the Enmore and the whole way home I was rehearsing a set; my first ever open mic set that I performed 3 days later at Newcastle Comedy Club.

This is the very real recording of that first set in all its amateur glory, because not only do I want to respect where I started, I ain't about to start lying to people about just how much of a garbage fire I was (am - I just make sure to get Ethan Bentley's copy of the set now...)
"How long have you been doing this?"
"This is my second week"

"No seriously"

Queue me questioning everything I'd ever been told about myself. By my second week it was like I'd been a hilarious, sarcastically dry dropkick who can't shut up my entire life...

...and 3 months later, I won my regional heat of RAW. Hosted by one Marcel Blanch De Wilt, I joined his comedy writing group afterwards and I've had many amazing learning opportunities with some of the country's best since.
The 2024 NSW State Finals were an amazing experience. I even got some personal encouragement from one of my favs Bec Melrose!

Now I remain committed to the craft. Writing, practicing... and learning to keep my eyes open for photos..... *sigh*
